1/2 c.sugar
1/2 c. butter
1 egg
1 c. sourghum
2 1/2 flour
1 1/2 tsp. soda
1 tsp ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. hot water

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening; add sugar, egg and sorghum, then sifted dry ingredients. When smooth, add hot water, mix until smooth. The batter is soft or thin. Bake in loaf pan in 350 degree oven until done. Cut into pieces; put in cereal dishes.
