1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
1/2 buttermilk
1 tsp. soda
3 1/2 c. flour
8 oz. pkg. dates
16 oz. pkg orange slices
2 c. coconut
2 c. pecans

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter, sugar, eggs. Cut dates, orange slices, pecans, coconut in small pieces. Roll dates and candy in flour. Add soda dissolved in milk, flour, candy, dates, coconut and nuts. Bake in ungreased tube pan at 250 degrees for 2 1/2 hours.

Topping:

1 c. orange juice
2 c.powdered sugar

Pour over cake while hot. cool in the refrigerator overnight. Freezes well and my be sliced frozen. Take cake out of tube pan when topping is all soaked in.
