1/2 cup shortening
1 egg
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
1 teaspoon vanilla
Beat until light and fluffy. Add:
1 cup unsifted flour
1/2 t. baking soda
1/2 t. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Blend well. Stir in 1/2 cup chopped walnuts and 1 cup choc. chips.
Drop from teaspoon onto ungreased baking sheets 2 inches apart. Bake 375 degrees - 8 to 10 min.
