2 cups shortening
2 cups white sugar
4 eggs
2 cups light molasses
6 cups flour
3 tsp salt
3 tsp soda
2 tsp ground ginger
2 tsp ground cinnamon
2 cups boiling water

Directions:

Bake 350F for 35-40 minutes. Makes 2 square cake pans full.
