3/4 c light molasses
1/2 c butter
2 eggs, beaten
4 1/4 c flour
1/2 c sugar
1 1/4 tsp soda
1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
1/2 tsp ground cloves
Dash of cayenne pepper
Powdered Sugar

Directions:

In sauce pan, combine molasses and butter. Cook and stir until butter melts. Cool to room temperature. Stir in 2 beaten eggs. Sift together all other ingredients, except powdered sugar. Add to molasses mixture. Mix well. Chill well. Shape dough into 1 inch balls (or can shape into snakes and cut with knife). Bake on greased cookie sheet at 375 for 12 minutes. Cool. Roll in powdered sugar (or put in ziploc with sugar and shake).
