1 1/2 c sugar
3/4 c butter
4 egg yolks
1/3 c poppy seeds
1 1/2 t vanilla
2 c all-purpose flour
1 t baking soda
1/4 t salt
1 c sour cream
4 stiffly beaten egg whites
powdered sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Cram sugar and butter until light and fluffy. Beat egg yolks, poppy sees and vanilla. Thoroughly stir together flour, soda and salt. Add to creamed mixture alternately with sour cream, beating after each addition. Fold in egg whites. Turn batter into greased 10" tube, or bundt pan. Bake in preheated 350 oven for 45-50 minutes. To prevent overbrowning cover with foil last 5-10 minutes. Do not invert cake out of pan. Cool and remove. Dust with powdered sugar.
