1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
3 lg. bananas, mashed
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. chopped nuts (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar and shortening and add eggs. Add bananas, vanilla and mix together. Then add flour, salt and soda. (Be careful to stir flour and soda together first so that baking soda lumps aren't found in the bread after it's baked.)
Grease 4 small loaf pans. Bake @ 350 for 30-35 min.
