1 large onion, chopped
4 carrots, sliced
4 ribs celery, sliced
1/2 head cabbage, chopped
3 beef bouillon cubes
3 cups water
1 bay leaf
46-oz. can totmato juice
Salt and pepper to taste
Optional:
Add diced left-over roast or steak.

Place all ingredients in large pot and bring to boil.
Partially cover, and simmer for one hour.
If adding left over meat, do so during last 10 minutes of cooking time.
