5-7 lbs shelled washed peas
2 -3 strips thick slice bacon
1/4 stick margarine
salt

Directions:
Directions:
Place peas in large pot, cover with water. Add bacon slices, margarine and about 2 tsp salt. Cover and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer covered about two hrs or until tender. Check to be sure peas do not boil dry.
