3 medium very ripe tomatoes
1 finely chopped onion
1/2 cup celery chopped
pinch of sugar
3 whole cloves
3 tbsp. butter
3 tbsp. flour
1 tsp. salt
3 cups milk
1 bay leaf

Directions:
Directions:
Peel and chop tomatoes, combine with onion, celery, sugar, cloves, and bayleaf in medium saucepan, Bring to boil, than reduce heat,cover and simmer 15 minutes. Melt butter in large saucepan. Stir in flour and salt cook 1 minute; stir in milk. Cook, stirring constantly till mixture thickens and bubbles, 2 minutes. Keep warm puree tomato mixture through sieve or food mill. Stir puree slowly into sauce. Heat but don't boil.
