1 c. sugar
2 tbsp. flour
3 heaping tbsp. cocoa
4 egg yolks, beaten (reserve whites for meringue)
2 c. milk
1 tsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 baked pie shell
1/4 c. sugar for meringue
1/4 tsp. cream of tarter for meringue

Directions:
Directions:
Combine dry ingredients in a heavy saucepan. Add milk and beaten eggs to dry mixture. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly. When mixture is thick, add butter and vanilla and mix well. Pour into cooled, baked pie shell. To prepare meringue, mix egg whites at mixer's highest speed. Slowly add 1/4 c. sugar and cream of tarter and beat until forms small peaks. Cover pie filling with meringue. Bake at 425 just until tips of meringue are brown. Watch closely.
