1 c butter 1 c sugar 3 tbsp. water 1 tsp. vanilla 3 chocolate bars..
Place first 3 ingredients into heavy sauce pan. Cook to hard crack stage (on candy thermometer) stirring constantly. Stir in vanilla and immediately pour onto greased cookie sheet. Melt chocolate bars and pour over top of brittle or you may wish to leave the chocolate off. Let cool and enjoy.
