1 c. sugar
1/4 c. butter
1 egg
1 1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. cloves
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
4 medium apples
Butter Sauce:
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. half and half
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar and butter. Add egg and mix well. combine dry ingredients and add to sugar mixture. Then add the apples, pared and grated. Mix thoroughly. Spread evenly in pan and bake at 350 for about 30 min. or until done. To make butter sauce: Over low heat, combine butter, sugar and half and half. When butter is melted add vanilla. Simmer (do not boil) for 30 minutes. Serve warm over pudding.
