This recipe for Sundae Brownies, by Ruth Schwardt, is from Favorite Recipes,

1 c. flour 1 c. sugar 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. vanilla 1/2 tsp. baking powder 2/3 c. shortening 3 eggs 1 c. chocolate syrup* Frost with Chocolate Sundae Frosting below.
Beat at medium speed 1 minute. Spread in greased 15 x 10 inch pan. Bake 350º for 25 to 30 minutes.
Chocolate Sundae Frosting: Combine 1/2 c. chocolate syrup (remainder of 16 oz. can) 2 tbsp. soft butter, 1 1/2 c. powdered sugar and 1/2 tsp. vanilla. If necessary, add milk until of spreading consistency.
* It takes a 16 oz. can for the brownies and the frosting.
