4 cups flour
6 TBS shortening
2 tsp baking powder
2 tsp salt
Enough very hot water to make a soft dough

Directions:
Directions:
Mix flour, baking powder, salt with shortening in a bowl. Mix well with your hands. Carefully so as not to burn yourself add the very hot water. Mixing and mixing to make a soft dough. Knead to a smooth shiny consistency. Place in a bowl and cover with a dish towel. Let it rest an hour. Then pull off and make little round patties. About 2 inches wide and 1/2 an inch thick. Place them in a bowl until ready to roll out. Roll out like you would for a pie and cook on a hot griddle. Place one on the griddle; don't wait to long to turn it over let that side start to puff then turn it again. Must turn at least 3 times.
