1/2 Cup Butter
3 Eggs
1/2 Tsp. Salt
2 Tsp. Baking Soda
2-1/4 Cups Flour
1/2 Cup Sour Milk or Buttermilk
1/2 Cup plus 1 Tbsp. Cocoa
3 Tbsp. Oil
2 Tsp. Vanilla
1 Cup Water, boiling

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter, add sugar, eggs, cocoa and oil; set aside. Mix together flour baking soda and salt, add alternately with milk into butter mixture. Mix in vanilla and water. Bake at 350 for 30 to 35 minutes.

Note: To sour milk, put a teaspoon of cider vinegar in your half cup measure, fill the rest of the way with milk and let sit for 5 minutes.
