1 Tbsp. Yeast
1 Tbsp. Sugar
1-1/2 Cups Water, warm
1 Tsp. Salt
4 Cups Flour
Butter

Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve together yeast, sugar and water. Then add remaining ingredients and knead until smooth. Roll into long "snake". Cut 12 to 14 inch pieces for large pretzels or 8 inch pieces for small knots. Brush with butter before and after baking or brush with egg and sprinkle with salt or poppy or sesame seeds. Bake at 450 for 15 minutes.
