-4 strips of bacon, cut into squares
-1 small onion, chopped
-2 c homemade pintos that have been cooked down very thick and have been mashed with a potato masher
or
-1 lb can refried beans or pinto beans, mashed

Directions:
Directions:
Fry bacon just slightly. Add onions and stir until clear. Add beans and fry until all bacon grease is absorbed and beans look rather dry.

These beans may be eaten as is or as a side dish. They may also be made into chalupas, bean burritos and nachos.
