1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 cups flour
1 tsp salt
2 eggs
1 cup sugar
2 tsp vanilla
1 tsp baking soda
2 cups chocolate chips
1 cup chopped pecans, if desired

Directions:
Directions:
Beat butter, shortening, egg, sugars and vanilla until light and fluffy. Add dry ingredients; blend well. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts. Drop from a teaspoon onto a ungreased baking sheet 2 inches apart. Bake at 375 for 8-10 min.

I've made this cookie lots of times, Bill likes them with pecans, but the kids do not. I make them half and half.
