"A man who was fond of wine was offered some grapes at dessert after dinner. "Much obliged," said he, pushing the plate aside; "I am not accustomed to take my wine in pills."--Jean Antheleme Brillat-Savarin, The Physiology of Taste

1 Tbs red chili paste
1/4 cup soy sauce
minced garlic
splash of vinegar
splash of olive oil

peal and devein 1 lb of large shrimp
marinade the shrimp for 1 to 3 hours

cook the shrimp in a frying pan in a bit of oil, until pink, (or
directly on the grill, or skewered, if necessary)
sprinkle blackening seasoning on the shrimp as it is cooking to spice
it further, if desired.
The cooked marinade in the pan (if used) makes a great sauce for
dipping bread in (if any sauce is remaining).
