1 cup shortening
3/4 cup powdered sugar
2 cups sifted flour
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup walnuts, finely chopped

Directions:
Directions:
Combine shortening and sugar until light and creamy. Add remaining ingredients and mix until well blended.

Shape dough into small date shapes and place on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 325 for 15-20 mins until lightly brown around edges. While still warm, roll in bowl of sifted powdered sugar until covered with sugar..let cool.
