1 c sugar, 1/2 c crisco, 1 egg, 3 peeled & chopped apples, 1 c flour, 1 tsp soda, 1/2 tsp cinnamon, 1/2 tsp nutmeg, 1/4 tsp cloves, 1/4 tsp alspice, pinch salt

Directions:
Directions:
Blend first three ingredients well and add apples. Sift together flour, soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, alspice & salt. Add to above mixture & mix well. Bake @ 350 for 30 to 35 minutes in about an 8" panl. (add chopped nuts if desired)
