2 cups chicken broth
1 cup dried split peas; rinse and drained
1-1 1/2 pound ham bone or pork hocks
1/4 dried; crushed marjoram
1 bay leaf
1/2 chopped carrot
1/2 cup chopped celery
1/2 cup chopped onion

Directions:
Directions:
In soup pot combine all ingredients except vegetables, Add 2 cups water and bring to boil; Reduce heat. Cover and simmer for 1 hour, stir occasionally. After 1 hour remove bay leaf and ham bone. Remove meat from bone and return to soup pot. Add vegetables, return to a boil; reduce heat and cook an additional 30 minutes, or more until veggies are tender. Discard bay leaf.
Makes about 5 1/2 cups.
