1/2 c. softened butter
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. white sugar
1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2-1/2 c. flour
1 bag semisweet chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375. Beat butter and shortening in a large bowl with an electric mixer for 30 seconds. Add brown sugar, white sugar, and baking soda. Beat until mixture is combined. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Beat in as much flour as you can with the mixer, then stir in any remaining flour. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop by spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets, and bake for 8 to 10 minutes per batch.
