1 1/2 cups sugar
1 1/2 cups butter
1 1/2 cups mashed bananas
2 eggs well beaten
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 cup buttermilk or yogurt
3/4 cup chopped walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar thoroughly. Blend in bananas, eggs, and vanilla. Sift in flour, baking soda, and salt together. Add banana mixture alternately with buttermilk, mixing together after each addition. Add nuts and mix.
Pour batter into greased and floured 9x5x3 loaf pan.
Bake at 350 degrees for about 1 1/2 hours.
