2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/3 cup cocoa
1 cup sugar
1/3 cup shortening
1 egg
3/4 cup milk
1 tsp. vanilla
4 Tbs. flour
1 cup milk
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
2 tsp. vanilla

Heat oven to 350
Mix ingredients for cookies together well. Drop dough by teaspoon onto greased cookie sheet. Spread dough slightly. Bake for 6 to 8 minutes. Cool
For filling: Mix flour and milk, cook until thick, cool. Cream shortening and butter, add the sugar gradually, then add milk and flour mixture. Add vanilla last. Mix well.
Spread filling between two cookies, and wrap in wax paper.
This recipe also works well when doubled.
