2 egg whites
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
2/3 c. sugar
pinch of salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. almond extract
3/4 c. chocolate chips
1 c. finely chopped pecans, optional

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Beat egg whites until foamy. Add salt and cream of tartar. Beat until stiff. Gradually add sugar, beating well. Add vanilla and almond extract. Beat until peaks are shiny and stiff. Fold in nuts and chocolate chips. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto foil-covered cookie sheets. Pleace in oven. Turn off heat and leave until morning. Store in airtight container.
