14 lbs cucumbers, sliced
2 cups Mrs. Wages pickling lime
4 gals water
1 gal distilled cider vinegar
11 lbs granulated sugar
4 tbsp mixed pickling spices, bagged

Directions:
Directions:
Mix lime with water and soak cucumbers overnight. Be sure to use enamel ware or a crock-no aluminum. Remove cukes from lime mixture. Rinse 3-4 times in fresh cold water. Soak 3 hours in a fresh ice water bath or overnight. In a large stock pat, combine sugar, bagged pickling spices, and vinegar. Bring to a low boil, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and add cukes. Soak overnight. Boil slices in the syrup for 35 mins. Pack sterilized jars with hot cukes.Pour hot syrup over cukes, leaving 1/2" head space. Process pints 10 mins and qts 15 mins in boiling water canner. If you seal each jar as filled, you do not have to do the water canner. Listen for each jar to pop. If not, process the unsealed jars in the canner.
