3 tablespoon cornstarch
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
1 tablespoon butter
3/4 teaspoon thyme
2 cloves, garlic; minced
1 can (14 1/2 oz) chicken broth
1 cup beer
2 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1 cup milk

Directions:
Directions:
Stir 3 tablespoons water into cornstarch in a small bowl; set aside.

Place onion, butter, thyme & garlic in 3 quart saucepan; cook and stir over medium high heat 3-4 minutes. Add broth; bring to boil.

Stir in beer, cheese and paprika. Reduce heat to low; whisk in milk and cornstarch mixture. Stir until cheese is melted and soup bubbles and thickens.
