Ingredients: 2 cups brown sugar 2 cups flour 1/2 cup butter, softened 1 teaspoon baking powder 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon vanilla 1 cup milk 1 egg 1 cup chocolate chips 1/2 cup chopped pecans 1/4 cup unsweetened flaked coconut

Directions:Preheat oven to 350º. Lightly grease 13 x 9 inch baking dish.
In bowl, mix together brown sugar and flour.
Using pastry cutter or two knives, cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Remove 1 cup of mixture and set aside.
To mixture in bowl, add baking powder and salt. Using a fork, lightly beat in vanilla, milk and egg.
Continuing beating until a smooth batter forms. Pour into greased pan.
In bowl, combine the chocolate chips and nuts. fold in coconut.
Sprinkle reserved crumb mixture over top of batter. Sprinkle with chocolate chips and nuts.
Using a long flat spatula, spread topping evenly over the top of the batter in pan.
Bake for 35 minutes. |
