14 c. water
2 c. brown sugar
2 c. vinegar
1/4 c. canning salt

Directions:
Directions:
Boil all ingredients together then pour over the watermelon, which has been packed into jars. Add a pinch of red pepper and garlic and dill.

Seal jars and set in the hot water (not boiling) until the melon changes color. You can put a strip of green pepper and wait until it changes color.
