3 c. sugar
2 sticks butter or margarine
1/2 c. shortening
5 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 c. milk
3 c. flour (sifted)
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 c. chopped nuts (pecans)
1 (12 oz.) pkg mini chocolate chips

Cream butter and shortening. Add sugar. Add eggs, beating well after each one. Sift flour, salt and baking powder together. Add flour mixture alternating with milk. Add flavoring. Add chocolate chips and nuts, mixing well with a wooden spoon. Pour into a greased and floured 10-inch tube or Bundt pan. Put into a cold oven and bake at 325 for 90 minutes or until cake tests done.
