Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar until light and fluffy, add eggs 2 at a time, beating well after each addition. Add milk and flour (that has been sifted with salt) alternately, beginning and ending with flour. Add flavorings. Grease and lightly flour a 10-inch tube pan. Turn batter into prepared pan and bake in 325 degree oven for 1 hour and 25 minutes, on until cake is done. Remove from oven and turn cake out on rack; quickly scrape out any crumbs and grease that may be left in pan; put pan bake over cake and let stay until cake is cool.
