1/2 c. butter or margarine, softened
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
4-5 ripe bananas, mashed
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsps. baking powder
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together eggs, sugar, and butter. Add mashed bananas and mix until blended. Add dry ingredients and mix only until blended. Do not overmix. Fold in nuts. Pour into greased loafpan and bake at 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in middle of loaf comes out clean. Can be frozen after baking.

The secret to good banana bread is very ripe bananas. I freeze mine as they age, then thaw and use in this recipe. They look disgusting, but they make great bread!
