1/2 C sugar
1/2 C shortening
1 egg
1 C Brer Rabbit Molasses
2 1/2 C sifted flour
1 1/2 t. baking soda
1 t. cinnamon
1 t. ginger
1/2 t cloves
1/2 t. salt
1 C hot water

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar. Add beaten egg, molasses, then
sifted dry ingredients. Add hot water last. Put in a square
greased baking dish. Bake at 350 for 35 minutes. Serve warm
with whipped topping or lemon pudding topping.
