3/4 c. chipped onion
1/4 c. butter or margarine
1/3 c. all purpose flour
6 c. water
3 tsp. chicken bouillon granules
1 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 package (10 oz.) frozen chopped broccoli thawed
1 c. milk
1 c. half and half
8 ounces American cheese, cut up

Directions:
Directions:
In a large saucepan over medium high heat, saute onion in butter or margarine for 5 minutes or until onion is almost tender. Reduce heat to medium. Stir in flour until completely blended. Add water, bouillon granules, garlic powder and pepper and stir. Bring to a boil: reduce heat to low. Add broccoli and milk. Simmer for 10 minutes or until broccoli is done. Stir in half-and-half and cheese untiul cheese melts. Serve hot. Great to freeze!
