2 sticks butter, softened
2 cups sugar
3 cups self-rising flour, sifted
3 large eggs, room temperature works better
dash of salt
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp baking soda

Directions:
Directions:
In medium bowl, mix sugar and butter until smooth. Mix self-rising flour with last three ingredients. Add flour mixture slowly, mixing thoroughly after each addition. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well. Spoon onto cookie sheet that has been sprayed or baking sheet. Bake for 7-10 minutes at 350 until very slightly brown. Cookies will be fragile. Let cool before handling.
