2 cups self-rising flour (ma always used Golden Eagle brand)
3 Tbsp shortening (ma used lard)
3/4 cup buttermilk

Directions:
Directions:
Make hole in middle of flour, pour buttermilk and shortening in hole. Mix the two together. Slowly mix in the flour while kneading dough, don't overwork dough. Knead into long log, pinch off dough in egg size pieces, roll into balls and place on baking sheet close together if you want tall, fluffy or not touching if you want flatter biscuits. Pat down biscuits. Bake at 400 - 450 depending on your oven for about 10-15 minutes ro until as brown as you like them.
