Put whole or halved nuts in clean dry pint or quart jars. Put uncovered into a 200 degree oven for 1 1/2 hours. While nuts are baking boil jar lids. Take jars out when time is up. Wipe dry and seal tight.
These keep for a long time. I have stored these for up to a year and a half. My brother has a walnut tree in Washington and has shared them with us. My Dad used to shell them.
