1 cake yeast
1/4 c. lukewarm water
3 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 1/2 tsp. salt
3 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. Crisco
2 beaten eggs
1/2 c. sour cream

Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve yeast in water. Sift flour with salt, cut in butter and Crisco. Blend in eggs, cream, softened yeast and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Sprinkle board wtih one half of mixture. Roll out half of dough to 8x16 inch rectangle, spread with sugar to make 3 layers. Turn 1/4 way around and repeat folding and rolling twice, using all of the half of sugar mixture. Roll out 1/4 inch thick, cut into 4x1 inch strips; twist strips one or twice. Place on ungreased baking sheet. Repeat entire process with other half. Bake at 350 for 15 to 20 minutes until golden brown.
