The tea menu can include many different items, but usually will consist of dainty sandwiches, buttery scones and delicious desserts. The most important ingredient is the tea itself. Dainty sandwiches are staples on the tea menu. For more healthful sandwiches, choose high fiber, whole grain breads. Nuts and seeds add crunch and nutrients as well. Finish with scones and dessert. If you are cutting calories, serve one or the other. Apple slices or strawberries dipped in dark chocolate may be a consideration. Slices of cheese with pear slices may also be a consideration.
