2 cups shortening
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
3 eggs, beaten
l tsp. cinnamon
4 1/2 cup flour
2 tsp. baking soda
l cup sliced almonds










Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar, add eggs, stir in dry ingedients, fold in nuts. Roll in 4 parts in wax paper, store over night in refrigerator. Slice quite thin and sprinkle with white sugar, bake 350 - 375 - 10 min. Do not lay cookies close together as they spred.

Grandma Scherbarth made these every Christmas. She had large containers in her attic and stored her cookies there. The grandkids would always go up there and eat cookies. They always thought that no one knew that they were doing this.
