3 cups dates, cut into pieces 1 1/2 cups water 1/4 cup sugar
Crust: 3/4 cup melted butter 1 3/4 cups flour 1 teaspoon salt 1 cup brown sugar 1/2 teaspoon soda 1 1/2 cups oatmeal
Cook the dates, water and sugar in a medium saucepan until soft and mushy. Set aside until cool. Combine the crust ingredients until well blended. Pat half of mixture in bottom of 9 x 13 inch pan. Spread cooled filling over this. Top with the rest of the crumb mixture. Bake at 350º for 45 minutes.
