Beef Stroganoff Recipe

2 lb. lean beef
1/4 c butter
1 chopped onion
1/2 lb sliced mushrooms
juice 1 lemon
1/4 c cooking sherry
1/2 c tomato juice
1/2 c beef stock
salt and pepper
1/2 c sour cream
1 pkg egg noodles
poppy seeds

Shread beef and sprinkle with lemon juice. Saute onions in hot butter until soft. Remove from pan and saute mushrooms. Remove mushrooms and brown beef which has been lightly floured. After about 5 minutes add onions, mushrooms, stock, tomato juice, sherry , salt, pepper. Cook another 5 minutes. Just before serving, stir in sour cream and heat through. Serve over hot noodles sprinkled with poppy seeds
