3 c self rising flour 3 tsp baking powder 2 tsp confectioners sugar 1/2 c solid vegetable shortening 1 1/4 c buttermilk
sift flour, baking powder, and sugar together. Cut in shortening, add buttermilk to make dough. form into ball and knead slightly, do not overwork. roll on floured surface, cut using biscuit cutter, bake 10-12 minutes at 450º
