1 yeast cake 1 c hot water 3 Tbsp sugar 3 Tbsp shortening 1/2 Tbsp salt 3 cups plain flour (measure before sifting)
Pour hot water over sugar, salt and shortening. When lukewarm dissolve yeast in mixture, then add 1/2 of the flour and beat well. Add rest of flour. let rise 2 hours. Shape ino rolls and let stand 2 more hours. Bake 15 or 20 minutes at 425º. Dough can be kept in refrigerator for several days.
