Fry bacon and crumble it. save 1/2 of the bacon grease. mix in the cabbage into bacon pan with grease and bacon in it and set aside.
Mix grated potatoes, eggs, salt and add flour.
Test batter with spoon. The batter is ready when the spoon only tips slightly and slowly. That is when you know you have enough flour.
Get a pot of water boiling and put a portion of batter on plate. Spoon small portion of batter into boiling water dipping spoon into water after each dumpling???
When dumplings are done, stir into cabbage and bacon mixture.

Personal Notes:
As you can tell, this is an old family recipe and it is not an exact recipe. Tastes delicious though.
