Topping:
1 c. flour
1/2 c. oatmeal
1 c. packed brown sugar
1/2 c. melted butter

Filling:
4 c. apple cubes
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. water

Directions:
Directions:
Make the topping in a large bowl. Combine flour, oats, and sugar, mixing well. Press 1/2 the mixture into an 8x8 pan. Combine apples, sugar, flour, cinnamon, and water. Mix well. Pour over crust in pan. Sprinkle the remainder of the crumbs over the filling. Bake at 375 for about 35 minutes. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream while warm, if desired.

I usually make about 1 1/2 times the amount of the crust/topping compared to what the recipe says.
