1/2 cup shortening (part butter) 1/2 cup packed brown sugar 1 cup flour
Topping: 2 eggs 1 cup brown sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla 2 tablespoons flour 1 teaspoon baking powder 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 cup coconut 1 cup slivered almonds
Heat oven to 350º. Mix shortening and sugar, stir in flour. Press and flatten with hand to cover bottom of ungreased oblong pan. Bake 10 minutes. Mix all topping ingredients and spread on baked crust. Bake 25 minutes more. Cool and serve.
