1 cup lentils (half of 16oz. package)
4 cups water
1 Tbsp. oil (I use olive oil)
3 Tbsp. sofrito
OR 1 tomato, 1 sm. onion, 1/2 tsp. minced garlic
3-4 Tbsp. Maggi
1 packet Sazon Goya with Coriander & Anatto

Directions:
Directions:
Cook sofrito in oil for about a minute. Add lentil, water, maggi and Sazon. Bring to a boil, place lid on and reduce to med-low. Cook for 45 minutes or until the lentils are soft. Check after 30 minutes, you might need to add water.

My sister-in-laws gave me this recipe but they use the term "gizo" instead of sofrito.
